"The Other Corner" is the wild child of Rahula Dassenaieke, a lover of nature in his own rights and a keen photographer. Rahula came up with the concept of "The Other Corner" as a place to relax with the idea of maintaining an unsullied environment for other avian and nature lovers to enjoy what is frequently termed the abundance of nature.
A family man, Rahula is also the managing director of Starron group of companies, which was founded in 1988 to cater to the demand rife at the time, and has since carved a niche for itself in the industry.
Rahula's aspiration with "The Other Corner" is that more people will come to realize the value of the natural world around us and to provide such a place as will in all probability be all too rare in the future, a place of beauty, of peace, of relaxation and an observation point in the evolution of nature.
Built on a sprawling spread of approximately 5 acres, about 5 minutes drive from the town of Habarana, the chalets are located in hiding, preserving as much privacy and sanctuary as possible. The fact that there is no barrier or fences (to preserve natural trails and to reduce a much a possible the effect of encroaching on nature) erected around The Other Corner in no way diminishes the sense of solitude and peace one feels.
The fact of its central location makes The Other Corner an ideal starting point to such well known tourist attractions as; Minneriya (about 15 minutes drive), Kawudulla (about 20 minutes drive), Sigiriya (about 20 minutes drive), Dambulla (about 20 minutes drive), Pidurangala (about 20 minutes drive), Ritigala (about 20 minutes drive) and the Huruwila Auyrwedic village. (about 20-25 minutes drive)
