Topaz

Topaz was launched in Sri Lanka on January 19th 2014 at the boatyard BAFF Polymech, our sister company, in Koggala. Like all our boats, Topaz was built by this spin off of the Building A Future Foundation.

The boat was designed especially for non residential “Day Charter” programs: sea safaris, coastal day cruises, sailing trips etc. Thus, there are no cabins, but an open cockpit with a large deck tand space for many passengers.

Design

The deck has an open cockpit with cozy benches and cushions. In this shaded area we have movable teak tables and foldable teak chairs.

The large sundeck offers a trampoline to lay down on for sun tanning. On the bow we have seats to enjoy the view of the gorgeous coastline.

The hull on portside has a fully furnished kitchen. In this crew only area we also have iceboxes for drinks.

The hull on starboard side has two bathrooms: one for ladies, one for gentlemen. Both have automatic toilets and sinks with running water. Both hulls have a cabin which is made for crew exclusively.

Equipments

On board the crew will provide a drinks menu. Topaz has full sets of tableware, including champagne flutes and wine glasses.

On the boat, we will supply snorkelling gear and a stand up paddle board for water fun. Guests can climb back on board over two teak back transoms and use the fresh water shower if needed.

The boat is equipped with a complete sound system. We have four waterproof speakers for high quality music. With an AUX cable, guests can connect their own devices.

Safety

Safety is a top priority for Sail Lanka Charter. The safety standards on our boats correspond with European principles, including insurance policy, certification of crew, and all safety equipment.

We provide fitting life jackets for all passengers. A first aid kit is on board in case of injuries or small accidents.

The boat is equipped with a liferaft and a rigid inflatable boat with an outboard engine. We also have a lifeguard with a light and a VHF radio on board.

Topaz has a set of fire extinguishers on the deck and in the hulls. For the engine room we have specific CO2 extinguishers.
